Our History

The Big L Club was established in 1958 and was formed by a group of dedicated supporters to become the official sports booster of Livingston High School.

The Big L Club’s primary purpose is to promote and boost morale of the Lancer Athletic Program while recognizing individual and team accomplishments. From the small number of teams that represented the high school in 1958, the athletic program now fields more than 60 teams at the varsity, junior varsity and freshman levels. LHS’s Marching Band and Cheerleaders are a vital part of every game and are essential to our tremendous school spirit.

The Big L Club is proud to induct Hall of Fame members each year. In order to memorialize these Hall of Fame Inductees The Big L Club donated a Hall of Fame Wall which proudly displays plaques for each of our time-honored athletes in the LHS Wellness Center.

There are many ways The Big L Club supports the Athletic Program throughout the year. Sponsoring the Fall, Winter and Spring Sports Awards nights has been a long tradition of The Big L Club. Every season we present award plaques to athletes who have received recognition at the conference, county and state levels.

Each year our senior athletes look forward to participating in our Lancers on Parade Fundraiser where our very own LHS athletes showcase outfits, make-up and hair styles, all clothing and services are donated by and borrowed from our local vendors. It is a night for our community to come together as local businesses, great restaurants, and wonderful clothing vendors embrace Livingston’s senior student athletes.

The Big L Club also contributes time and funds to a variety of projects to benefit Livingston High School athletes and the student body at large. In the past we have gifted exercise equipment for the fitness and wellness center and helped purchase the softball scoreboard and golf cart for our LHS sports trainer. Recently The Big L Club provided video cameras and software for all of our LHS coaches and teams to use for instructional purposes.

To boost the morale of LHS, The Big L Club purchased a mascot costume, Sir Lawrence the Lancer. Sir Lawrence attends various school and sporting events throughout the year. The Big L Club encourages you to sign up for Sir Lawrence the Lancer to appear at your next event.

The Big L Club’s annual Senior Pep Rally is another way that we infuse excitement into our LHS student athletes. At the Senior Pep Rally we inspire our athletes with a motivational speaker as they experience their last days at LHS. We also announce the male and female athlete of the year and also recognize all of our senior band members, cheerleaders and athletes.

All of our events are a place for our LHS community to come together, cheer for each other, and support each other until the very end. Our students take with them amazing memories that The Big L Club helps to create.
